View Full Version : carpet glue

I have recently removed the carpet in my living room, I am thinking of staining or wood floors, haven't decided yet! But right now I have lines of carpet glue and some mastic from nearby tiled area, how can I remove these?
Also, if I stain is there a trim that will transition from the tile to the concrete?
Thanks for your help.

A razor scraper, with a new blade. You can get a wood threshold. Home Depot or Lowe's most likely has them.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I wasn't quite clear in my question. I am more concerned about the glue that has been absorbed into the concrete. I have read that stain will not soak into those places.

If I use a sharp razor scraper, it has never left a glue trail from absorbtion. You can always skim coat the concrete.
