I have a 35 year old ranch home that has no insulation in the exterior walls. I would like to build new walls inside and add some. What is the best insulating material to use indoors. I probally will build 2x4 walls. Any ideas ?

Bill,

IMO "NU WOOL" is by far the best insulation available, but it is also expensive. But then again they guarantee the savings in your heating/cooling bills. Look them up on the net. You could see a 50% reduction in your heat/cool bills.

I would contract a company to blow in cellulose into the wall cavity from the exterior. You will not lose any interior sq. footage and be less of ahassle. If more insulation is needed, then remove the exterior siding & add an inch, inch & 1/2 of polystyrene.
