My puppy pulled off one entire side of the binding of a new area rug. Is there some way I can fix this myself?

Needle and thread. Apply a small amout of carpet seam sealer(latex) along the raw edge of the carpet. Let it dry. Get your neddle and thread and start stitching. You could take it to an area rug maker and see what they will charge you.
