I wanted to know how to put down a metal strip to edge carpet to a vinyl floor. The flooring is on concrete.

It can be frustrating trying to nail a ½" concrete nail into the concrete, espesially if it is what I call "ironcrete" (Really hard and brittle). You may need to use a cement drill and plastic "molly anchor" it to the concrete. Another alternative is Liquid Nails.
