Hi,

I have an older home with horsehair plaster walls. I've recently renovated a bedroom, fixing the holes, cracks, etc. and I'm hesitant to hit nails into the walls for hanging pictures, because I'm afraid of the plaster breaking out. Are there any special types of nails/screws to use for this?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Todd

Don't blame you for being hesitant. Try using a small drill bit to sink the hole, then put you nail in. For plaster walls they use to use picture molding for hanging things for this very reason. Don C.

Thanks Don,

That's a good idea. You're exactly right about the picture moldings. I've put so much work into these walls. They came out really good, and I did a fancy rag roll paint job. I would die if a chunk broke out.
