I am planning to cover paneling with 1/4" drywall in bedroon. Was wondering how best to handle door and window trim and electrical outlets?

Hi,
That is alot of work! I just want to suggest another idea. Fill the paneling valleys with dry wall, then rough sand. Then cover the walls with sculpted wallpaper. I have seen it done and it looks great and is 98% less work. We also painted the wallpaper, which is what is was designed for, paint that is.

I have a good friend who covered paneling with drywall. He told me that the lines in the paneling will eventually bleed through the drywall and paint. If drywalling is what you prefer then I would suggest removing the paneling first.
