Can Mahogany be used for flooring, the stuff I have is 50 years old and was used as wall panelling. It's 1 1/2 inches thick 9 inches wide and 12 Feet long. I thought I'd have the wood cut down to 5/8" thickness 4" width and in 6 or 8' lenghths and have it tongue and grooved. Do you think this is worth while and does anybody have an idea how much this would cost to have the wood cut.

Sparky:
All of the work it would take to cut that mohogany down, and get it ready for a floor,
I would guess that it would be cheaper to buy hardwood floor ready to go. cutting dow your wood you have will be very very expensive. All hand work and very labor intensive. It will also have no guarantee.
