Ted H mentioned cleaning - difficult. We are trying to decide on replacing carpet with new carpet or refinishing wooden floors. Carpet tiles may be the best overall. Where to find info on best type for carpet tile for high traffic-loves abuse, etc. Any problems in laying carpet tiles over wood floor?

Although difficult to clean, carpet tiles are a commercial style of carpeting. It's tough as nails and really easy to install. You simply lay the tiles down on the hardwood floor. They are designed to be easily removed if any become damaged.
