Egad! I was vacuumning my area rugs and the vac decided to eat the fringe and tear it away from the main part of the carpet! The next row it starting to come unraveled so if I try and sew the fringe row back on, it will more than likely pull away! Does anyone know what I can do? I've even considered duct taping it on the back???

Sounds like the fiber is a continuous piece that is looped through the backing. Very carefully remove the fiber to the end of the row, cut it off and secure the end with hot glue from the bottomand top of the carpet.
Once this is secured, you can simply sew the fringe back on.
Just as a thought, it isn't recommended to use a power nozzle on these types of carpets. If you get a broken thread in the middle of the carpet, your power nozzle can zip it to both ends before you can blink. Use stright suction and vacuum your carpets a couple of times a week and you should be OK.
