Different TV to replace dead Sharp as previously posted...Can I find the stupid book for the remote to reprogram it? NO! It's an RCA remote for DSS (smaller version, not full size) that uses 3 digit codes. I need codes for a Magnavox TV, and I can't remember how to program the darn thing. Is there a website or something where I can get this info so I don't have to buy a new remote? ACK! I hate moving....

Good Morning, janedo1586:

This sounds like the RCA Universal Remote. Here's how it works:
1) manually turn on television
2) Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until a device button lights (TV, VCR, etc)
Then release CODE SEARCH button.
3) Press and release the TV button. The TV button will remain lit.
4. Find the three digit code for your TV and enter it using the number buttons. The codes for Magnavox are
004, 006, 008, 019, 062, 068, 069, 074, 075, 076, 077, 088, 089, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 183, 184
5. When you locate the correct code, you will be able to turn your TV off.
6. With your TV on, press the CHANNEL UP and CHANNEL DOWN buttons. If the set responds, no further search is necessary.

Good luck ;)

Smokey,

Thanks so much! I was *finally* able to program the remote. Now...you wouldn't happen to have the three digit codes for a Magnavox VCR, would you? :)

Check back on Saturday, Oct 7, and I will post the numbers. Do you need the numbers for any other equipment you desire to use?

Good Afternoon, janedo1586:

Okay! The procedure is the same except instead of pushing the TV button, you push the VCR button (see previous postings).

For the Magnavox VCR, use the following codes: 008, 029, 053, or 056.

Good luck and Godspeed. If you need us, we are here waiting to help you.

Smokey ;)
