I don't have the make/model it's 18 years
old, been working fine, but had to move it
recently. It's worked for 2 weeks since the
move, but now I press the switch and nothing.
Timer doesn't even move. Used a current
tester and have current to the plug, that
splits off to white and orange wires. White
goes to switch where theres no power.
Orange goes to the back bottom of the machine
into a round white thing-a-ma-jig and comes
out orange, there's power there too. The
back bottom looks like the blower motor, but
I'm not sure. The door switch is fine, wires
all connected. Seems like a fuse inside the
machine. Sounds like a thermal fuse so far, but I don't know where that is on my dryer
the white thing-a-ma-jig perhaps.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi:Billybob

There isn't a thing-a-ma-jig or thing-a-ma-bob...hahaha...in your dryer. However, a defective door safety switch will cause the exact problem you discribed.

There isn't any thermal fuse in a dryer that I am aware of. I believe only the motor may contain one.

Test that door safety switch again. You must have continuity across it when it's closed. Unplug the dryer first!

The only other parts that will cause a complete failure is the timer and the on/off button/switch if it has one. Test those the same as that door safety switch.

Good Luck,
