Hi, I've just purchase a home and I'm considering purchasing a gas range. The house currently has a charcoal filtered hood, is this sufficient for a gas range? or should I have a roof vent installed.
Thanks
Don

Hi:Don
You didn't mention what was there already, so i have to assume it's an electric range.
Considering range hoods, the change to gas will be no different.
My suggestion would be to leave it as is for the time being. Later on, should this non vented hood prove not to function as you would like with the gas range, then you can elect to change it.
Good Luck,
