I'm installing a whirlpool tub in a plywood deck. Should I install the tile first and drop the tub on top of the tile or put the tub in and tile up to the fiberglass lip. I'm using a waterproof membrane and Wonderboard under the tile.

If it were me I would tile up to the whirlpool. Why: at some future time it may be necessary to access the jet tubes for repair (cut plywood or plywood and tile).
