I have an ADT LYNXR-EN system. I wanted a second keypad, but ADT's prices were so outrageous ($250) that I could not resist purchasing one myself for $75 off ebay about a year ago. I have used it all this time, and all functions work. I recently bought an AC adapter for it so it would be on all the time, and now that it is announcing everything along with the main unit I have noticed something.
The main keypad will announce "Front Door" but the 5828v is announcing "Fault Front Door" I also notice on the main keypad that the word "Fault" appears whenever the voice announces, for as long as the voice announces and then it goes away.
So this isn't a big deal, as again all functions on both keypads work.. I can fully control the system with the 5828v no problem. I would like to figure out why it says Fault each time though. I'm not sure what I did wrong in programming it, but since everything else works I am kind of at a loss.
Can anyone help??

I dont think you can change the 5828v keypad. What is the model # of the other keypad?

If it's a LynxR, then the "other keypad" is the all in one unit's base unit. The wireless keypad and the LynxR unit have slightly different built in vocabularys. If you want them to both "say" the same words, you have to make sure that every descriptor is set with the same choice of words on both the keypad _and_ the base unit.

The issue has nothing to do with the vocabulary, since the phrases I'm using are all accounted for in the manual of both the main LYNXR-EN keypad and this one.
The issue is that whenever the 5828V keypad is active, and an event happens (such as a door opening) that causes the LYNXR-EN to announce it, "FAULT" appears on both the LYNXR-EN and 5828V keypad.
The LYNX will announce the phrase.. and the 5828 will announce "FAULT" and then the phrase.
So for example if I open the front door, I hear "ding ding ding Front door" from the Lynx and "ding ding ding Fault Front door" from the keypad.
So in other words, the 5828v is adding the word "Fault" to whatever basic phrase is being used.

Yes, that's normal. It's not a bug, it's a feature.
