Hi, last week my Maytag Atlantis was making a very loud noise during the spin cycle only (other posts have described something similiar as a jet engine). Then about three days after the noise started then spin cycle failed to run. So after getting help here, I changed the thrust bearing. Now the spin cycle is working again and my wife is happy. However, the loud noise is still there in the spin cycle. Now I believe that something else is wrong, and that problem caused the thrust bearing to go bad. I expect in about three days from now the spin cycle will again fail. My question is, what part should I replace next? Or, will this nickle and dime me too much and should I get another washer?
Thanks.....
Thanks.....

Take off the belt and try to turn the water pump. if pump turns freely without noise than you need a transmission.

OK, thanks for the info. I think I will look to buy a new washer very soon. This may be a tough question to answer, but what do you think on how long do you think I have? A day, week, month?
Thanks again for your help.
Thanks again for your help.

if you can get a killer deal on black friday take it. the bearing is loud because the center seal leaked water onto it. soon the water will make it to the floor
