For the past week everytime I go to take a shower at night, I notice my water is cold and the furnace is out. I have to go down and press the reset button every night then it fires right up and is fine. What could be causeing this?

How long since it's been serviced? Did this problem start suddenly? Could be a plugged up filter. Seen that before. Runs fine for a while then too much vacuum the flame sputters, dies, lockout.

It has been a while. Should I just service it myself? Where can I get the parts and besides the filrewr and nozzle what else should I do?

Matt, there's a little more to it than just replacing the nozzle... a lot of 'fine points' need to be known to properly service a burner. If you've never worked on an oil burner before, I wouldn't recommend winter approaching to start tinkering with it... best to call a service tech and let him get you up and running again. If the tech seems receptive, he may show you some stuff, and you can get an idea of what all is involved.
