My house is 8 years old last year I started having backups in the showers and discovered the system was backed up. I have this Styrofoam system that I believe is partly to blame, I stopped the washing machine from dumping into the septic and the system lasts about 6 months before needing a pumping. There are 4 people in the home. What I want to do on my own is add an additional 75 feet of septic line. I do not believe I have a tradition distribution box type system, I do have a double wall chambered tank that the second tank distributes fluids out to the drain field. I want to know can I simply cut the 4 inch pvc pipe coming out of this chamber, install a T and run corrugated piping in a straight line down the side of my property. If so does this need to have an angle/tilt and if so how much of an angle?
Should I use Styrofoam or rock and how deep should it be.
Any information would be appreciated.

You need to pull a permit to do that work. It could be that your perc rate isn't good enough for an underground drainfield.

A backing up drain field has little to do with the septic tank.
The backing up is probably due to heavy and prolonged rain with a seasonal rise in the water level in your area.
One selling point of these styrofoam drain fields is that they need less space to process the same amount of water but, a number of people are complaining that they do do not work as well as the traditional field.
Dig down beside the bottom of the drain field and ascertain how high the ground water is.
Check with members of your family, if any of them are using a lot more water, doing more washing perhaps?
The drain field should have been designed, taking into consideration the number of people who will be using it, the average amount of water used per person and the ability of the ground to absorb that amount of water.
One thing that can cause a problem is salt/sodium. Salt will harden the soil and make it water proof - but, eight years is really too soon for that to have happend.
