I just bought a new home with a Concord Express system installed. I want to use the system, so I bought a alpha numeric keypad and then cleared the memory by jumping the motherboard.
Now I'm in the process of learning the sensors back into the system. I'm able to add the hardwired sensors no problem, but I'm struggling to add the one wireless sensor. I believe it's a NX-450. I go into learn mode, add to group 10, then click the "program" button on the sensor, but the system doesn't recognize that I've tripped it.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks

New batteries in the sensor?

I changed out the batteries, but no luck. I actually ordered another wireless sensor (same model) with no luck either. This system was previously monitored by ADT. Would it be possible that they disabled the wireless part of the system? I think GE has two different types of wireless sensors, SAW and Crystal(?), would it be worth it to try a different sensor?

There is no way to disable the wireless (unless the board is defective). You can use either saw or crystal...I'm assuming there are no other RF devices on the system?
Dumb question...the keypad displays "trip sensor X" when you are trying this, correct?

This is the only RF device on the system. All other sensors are hardwired. The board *might* be bad as the batteries were taken out of the original sensor by the previous owner, which could mean things were just not working in the first place. Would that be a common problem?
I go to system programming --> sensors --> learn sensors --> sensor group 10 --> trip sensor 7 (the 6 HW zones have already been learned in)
In the new sensor there is a blue jumper that's used for external contacts, do I need to take it out?
Thanks for the help!

No, you don't need to remove the blue terminal blocks....If you can get your hands on another wireless device, try learning that in. If you had an RF Sniffer you could determine whether the sensor is actually transmitting, but probably not worth your time and effort to get a hold of one. I assume you are trying to learn in the device fairly close to the panel?
