I am thinking of installing the Utilitech 3 in. recessed baffle lights in our home. They recommend 50 watt bulbs. My question is, is 50 watts going to be bright enough to properly illuminate the kitchen?

Any help is appreciated.

thanks.

Smaller recessed will not provide enough light to adequately light a kitchen. They would be fine as a task light over the countertop.

If you were to use the 3" you would either need a lot of them closely spaced or you would have a dark kitchen.

Larger recessed like a 5" or 6" would work much better.
