I just bought a Front-Load, after my whole life, laundering with top loads. I like the style, less drying time, wear and tear, but when it gets down to it, the washer seems to be a little weak on cleaning power. Now before we go into general talk about front-loads and advantages disadvantages let me explain.

I did a lot of research, I know there are problematic models out there and I have steered clear of those. I am not a picky person, but what came out of the wash, looked like the dirty pair of jeans I put in. I mostly need some advice on whether my issue is normal, or if it is something that sounds like a defect somehow.

The model is LG WM2016CW It sends in water at really weird intervals, which I guess is normal, these things have a mind of their own but are doing something I guess. And the water level never is seen from the window, the only reason I know water is in there, is because for the most part the clothes are wet. It usually takes a while to get fully soaked, but I thought there should be at least some type of water level in there. The rep said it is but the drum is angled back so you dont see it.

I dont know, I know these things are efficient, but I just don't see how clothes can get clean with as little water that is being introduced. And obviously they aren't. I only have dust and dirt from a couple days work on the jeans, nothing stain like. And they come out with deffinite visible dirt. I can still play with adding more water and going to full soiled level, which I did on my whites (soil level highest), and it turned out ok, but nothing spectacular. This model is reviewed excellent and that is why I purchased. But there are no errors or anything so It must be doing the correct job?

And no, I am not pretreating, and I don't feel like I need to play with options for 10 minutes before doing my load. Why can't this thing keep up with yesterday's technology. I didn't have to pre-treat and mess with sub-menus on my old washer to get simple dirt out of jeans. Rep said everything was fine, but I just don't see how they could send something to the market that did this kind of poor job.

Any help or confirmation that this is normal, would be excellent. Thank you very much.

as techs, we cant fix those problems. you need talk to someone in engineering so they can make it better for the next model.

Low water levels are normal. No more than 2 inches of water probably not seen with clothes in it. If not happy with washer talk to place you bought it and see if they can replace it.

Thanks. I mostly just wanted to know if that was normal. I seem to have better results with less clothes and adding water. I am led to believe that the whole energy savings is based on non-realistic measurements. I have to do more loads of laundry with extra water anyway. Now I just have to push more buttons to get it going right.

We bought an LG front loader about 6 months ago and it has given us no problems. Everything comes out good and clean even on speed wash.
