For some reason to get my logs to come on I have to push the on/off switch to "on" and then push hard on the word "on". When I quit pushing on the "on" switch it usually cuts off immediately, sometimes it takes a couple of minutes to cut off. If I then simply put pressure on the "on" it they will fire back up. Seems like some connection isn't being made unless I forcefully keep pressure on the on button.

Need new switch or do I need a tech??

Thanks!

;) From off position you turn to pilot it , either spark lites or you lite yourself , hold in bout 15 to 30 seconds >> making sure flame is at least on half of thermocouple << then switch to on .
If flame is not touching thermocouple pilot needs cleaning , if flame touching thermocouple bad thermocouple or gas valve.
If no fire no gas.

Thanks Grimk; the pilot is fine, it stays lit like it should. It's from there that the problem occurs. You then "flip" the switch to "on" and flames should normally come on. With my issue they will only come on when you keep constant pressure on the "on". So I guess the no fire = no gas thing is the issue. For some reason to get the gas to start flowing you can't just push the on/off switch to "on" but you have to push it hard and sometimes even keep pushing it.....

Are you saying when you hold it in the on position , the logs lite up all the way (bad switch if unless it goes strait to gas valve),(if switch goeg strait to gas valve , bad or sticking gas valve) or the pilot just stays lite? (burner bars may need brushing)

If you are talking about the wall switch, then it is probably bad. What part of Va. are you in?

The pilot stays lit all the time; day and night; never a problem; My system is 10 year old Titan TLX18; No wall switch; just the on/off right beside the piezo lighter; Yes, when I push hard on the on off switch the entire log flame system lights up, provides heat and works great. If I stop applying hard consistent pressure to the on switch the log flames go out but the pilot stays lit.....for some reason the gas stops just like you have flipped the switch off.

Sorry for any confusion.

I'm in Richmond area, but am in Chesapeake once/week.....
