I have a Vista 20P system that I have been installing.
Up to now, I things are working.
I just bought some 5814 micro wireless sensors.
I added Zone 19 as ZT=3 P=1 RC=10 RF:4s
It finds the sensor. BUT, it always shows it as 19Fault.
What am I missing here?
Thanks,
Tim

Thanks for the detailed info. How did you enroll the device? did you enter the serial number or did you learn it by triggering the device? Normally i learn it instead of putting in the serial #. Also i always program the input type as 3 supervised rf transmitter. 4 is best for devices like panic buttons that will leave you home and not send a troble when it losses supervision.

I programmed it by discovering it, it discovered it just fine.
Ok, so I programmed it as zone type 3.
Same thing, Fault 19. 19 being the zone that I set it to.
Any other suggestions are welcome :-)
Thanks for quick response.

I think you may mean 5814.
This should be programmed as loop 1, the transmitter cover has to be in place, and the magnet must be aligned with the reed switch. (4s means you programmed it as loop 4, which does not exist on this device).

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it.
I auto programmed it, if I change it to 1, 2, or 3 and then press the switch in the wireless piece it says entered 1, 2, or 3 and it discovered 4. If I choose 4 then it shows as RF:4s when it's finished.
It has stopped showing a fault in zone 19 now but it doesn't show a fault with the pieces 1/4" apart, 3' apart or across the room. So I am not sure if it is "active".
Am I making sense?
Thanks,
Tim

go to program
then *56
set to confirm yes
zone number (in this case 19)
accept the summary screen
zone type you want 3 (perimeter)
partition 1
report code 10
input type RF
it will display the serial nmber and loop you already have programmed. At this point change the loop number to 1, then continue to the summary screen to make sure it takes.
you may simply need to delete the device and start over.
Sometimes you have to manually change the loop number, sometimes the system gets confused. This device only has loop 1.

Thanks again for your help.
I deleted the zone, then recreated. I entered the 1 for the loop.
When I exit the system and go back in it shows loop as 1s.
Is that OK?
Also, when setting it up it had a setting for deactivate 00, I could only program it manually by choosing 01. Which I assume means that it is deactive. How to I enable it again?
This one is really confusing me.
Thanks,
Tim

1s is the correct loop. If you have the transmitter enrolled, and the zone type set, it should work normally now. Don't forget, these things will not work correctly unless the battery cover is in place.

How can I test it to see if it is working? When I have it on the table with the contact positioned correctly and then move the contacts apart I don't get a system fault like I do when I move in front of the motion sensor.
So, to confirm, if I have it entered in the system then it will automatically work just by exiting the programming and placing the cover on the sensor?
Thanks,
Tim

If you have it enrolled and programmed correctly, the transmitter should function as designed. If the zone is not reacting correctly when you move the magnet away from the reed switch, then you have something programmed incorrectly.
