We have ceramic tile in our entrance foyer. When cleaned with just plain water, the tile becomes extremely slippery for several days, to the point of becoming dangerous, particularly with a throw rug on it.
A tile dealer suggested "etching" the tile with a solution of acid and water, but that this may remove the "sheen" from the ceramic finish.
Does anyone else have experience with this problem and possibly be able to suggest either some product for application or an alternative cleaning process.
Thanks for the help.
