where is the chime battery? is this the black battery in the metal box? can I run my alarm with out this battery?

The keypad is telling you 2 things. The door chime is on and you have a low battery. If the Bat displays with a number on the screen then it is a wireless device low battery. If there is a bat with no number showing then it is the main panel battery.The system will not perform properly with a faulty battery.
