I took this carb off to clean it and put new gaskets in it.The mower surges. The mixture on the side of the carb. has a screw with a metal tab on it so it won't move about a 1/8".It also has a little spring behind the screw. My problem is the screw broke off in my hand with the little spring. How do you remove the stub left in the carb.Engine model is GXV140.
Thanks,

Good question. Maybe cut a slot in it with a dremel tool and unscrew it. It's made to be tamper proof. If the engine surges, the carb needs cleaning. You probably can leave the screw as it is and still make it run right. It didn't surge before with the screw at the current setting, so something besides that screw changed.

Thanks Cheese,I was able to cut a slot in the pilot screw with a dremel tool and was able to remove it.I clean the carb. and put it back together, and now the mower runs great.
