Hi! I'm looking to get a water softener for our house. The well water has been tested to have 32 grains hardness and 1.5 ppm iron. I've gotten quotes from both Culligan and an Ultramax dealer. The Culligan system we got quoted on was the 10" gold series and the Ultramax system we got quoted on was the Ultramax UM8150. I've searched on this site but didn't see anyone that mentioned the Ultramax system. Does anyone have any experience with them? The Ultramax system has a better warranty on everything except for the electronics (which is 7 years on the Ultramax vs. 10 years on the Culligan system) plus the price to have it installed is about $700 less. Any information or advice people can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
