My buddy and I have finished insulating his garage and he is starting to look at different heat options. There is no gas to his garage. Our options would be electric or some kind of ventless gas. propane? Does anyone have suggestions and/or links to examples of good heat options?

I don't know what your electric rates are, but mine are off the chart, so electric would be out. Ventless gas is out also due to CO potential and water. Burning gas produces a LOT of moisture which in an open garage will get blown outside, but in an insulated and sheetrocked garage you will rust up everything and be farming mold. If there is no sheetrock over the insulation, that is even worse.

A vented gas unit is what I would suggest. There are wall units, ceiling units and possibly even radiant, but have only seen those in commercial locations.

My 2 cents
