I'm planning on tiling the floor, counter, and backsplash in my kitchen. The floor is now a concrete slab with a well-secured linoleum over it. the counter and backsplash are laminate. I would like to tile over the existing surface on the floor and counter, but plan on removing the laminate backsplash before tiling. Can anyone give me an idea on surface preparation for the best adherence?

Remove the linoleum first. Never go over it.

I would remove the counter Top. Screw down some 3/4 inch plywood. Then Screw some wonder
board using the special self counter sinking screws. Then Tile over that.
If your doing it yourself you are already saving lots of money. Might as well do it right.
