Hello All;
What is the best way to mount a heavy coat rack into a plaster wall. I know I should try to locate the studs and mount into solid wood if possible but what sort of mounting hardware is needed for those holes that don't fall over a solid piece of wood ? Can I just use plastic anchors ? I tried this once and it ended up falling out with too much weight ? Is there better mounting methods than a plastic anchor ? Anything I could buy at Lowes or Home Depot, > Thanks.

You may can use a product called EZ Anchor or EZ Toggle, sold at the big boxes. It is sort of a toggle, that drills its own hole and has a flip mechanism inside that releases once you begin to drive the enclosed screw. It will hold 90 lbs of vertical weight, so it may be enough.
