I am finishing my basemnet and it is now time to look at my concrete fllor and cover it up.
Ideally we don't want the floor to be cool to the touch but we hate carpet.
we have about a 1000 sqft to cover and have dedcided to go with some flooting wood floor/tiles (laminate).
Here is the dilema.
we have a 400sqft rec room that we wish to finsih as a Hockey rink 'lool a like' of our favourite team the Montreal canadiens.
At this point all we wish to do is replicate a hockey ice surface with the red and blue lines.
Since our floor is concrete, what can you recomend to have that 'ice' look and not cold feet? ;)
Hard wood floors are to expensive and delicate for our kids.
-viny tiles are cool to the touch right?
- wooden subfloor?
I hear that we can paint our laminate (flooting) floors if we wish white witha sepacial primer?...I am hesitant as i don't think it will not last...
any gym products available for this?
any one know how to make this project a reality with out breaking the bank?

What about a sheet of linoleum? Get one solid color & paint it any way you want.

hmm..not sure i know what this is...can you give me an example?
is it something i can lie on wood/laminate floors without ruining them?

You wouldn't need the wood laminate under it.

I see. Thx!
it looks like an 'industrial vinyl tile' that may be cold to the touch?
espcially if i install it directly on my concrete floor. Should we put something under it? Vapor barrier?

Any floor is going to be cold to the touch unless you buy asphalt or the place is heated.
I don't know about painting the entire thing. You should be able to buy white or a light color & paint the stripes.
