I have a craftsman lawn tractor with a 16 hp kohler engine. I went to start it and it won't start. I have spark and had a flooded carburetor so I cleaned and emptied it. I replace the spark plug and fuel filter. Still no start. While trying to start I do get either a backfire from either the muffler or carb..Any help would be greatfully appreciated..

Kohler had different 16 hp engines. Got numbers or something more for us to go on?

Is the plug wet? Did you fix the carb problem? Any history about how this problem came about?
