Hi, we have a 4 year old kinetico 4040 S OD system. Water flow reduces significantly when it is regenerating and the marker is on the right side (bottom right or 5 oclock). Problem does not seem to occur when it regenerates on the left (top left or 11 oclock).

Am hoping someone has insight n how to fix the problem.

Thanks

Harry

Do you have a prefilter? How often is it changed?

Andy, since it supposedly only happens in one location wouldn't that indicate a valve or specific tank problem? I never work on Kinetico units but when troubleshooting a Fleck 9000/9100 valve I always check to see if one tank behaves the same as the other.

I am just curious myself as to why it only happens in one regen location.

Yes, it may be a tank or valve problem. These are upflow units with packed beds so I was wondering if the bottom distributor was clogged with something. There could be a piston not opening properly, as well.

This is one of the few Kineticos that requires a prefilter.

I have never heard where this happens to just one side and consistently.
