Bricks, Masonry, Asphalt and Concrete - Keystone small block as stairs

Hello,
I am planning on building stairs (nothing fancy just the way for me/us to get downhill safely) in my back yard. It's a fairly steep drop and eventually I will build a retaining wall to hold my patio. For now I have close to 400 mini-blocks 12x8x4 of Keystone (i've been told) and have no use for it. I've searched here on the forum and post recommended to look at the manufacturer's website, very good idea. The only problem is they recommend using their biggest block available. I don't have it nor can I afford it rite now.
Any ideas, suggestions?

You mentioned steps and wall in the same thought. Which do you plan on building with the keystones? If steps, the 12" keystones aren't deep enough for that. That is why the manufacturer suggests using the larger stones for that purpose.

Thanks, & yes the first "project" is the stairs.
Can I lay two or three stones somehow butting them together as close as possible and than lay some kind or "cap" like slate or any of those manufactured concrete pavers?
I just have no other use for those blocks & would not be able to get any kind of decent money for them if try to sell them.
Plus the big block keystone would call for the topper anyway ha?

But you may not be able to get your deductible back when they fall and break your leg. Don't use them for steps, since they weren't made for that purpose. Make decorative tree surrounds or planter dividers in front of your shrubbery.

I'll probably just going to toss them downhill and wait for the better days :rolleyes:
