Wondering what would cause engine to lose power? Engine was running fine and then all of a sudden went down to idle speed. I recently cleaned the carb and jets so I don't think that's the problem. Doesn't seem like it's choking for air; just running slow. Thought the governor lever moved back but it's in full open position.

I'm at a loss. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks,

Mike

Can you open the throttle plate by hand and make it rev up?

What is the engine on? Walk behind mower? If so, you probably hit a rock or stump and broke the flywheel key knocking the timing way out of wack. Either check it yourself or have a shop check it.
