Hi everyone. About a year ago Jay helped me troubleshoot my TrueSteam Humidifier with the VisionPRO IAQ thermostat. After having that run for a whole year flawlessly on my downstairs zone, i figured I would buy the VisionPRO IAQ for my upstairs AC/Heater unit. Now, I did not buy the IEM module or the humidifer, but i did by the new thermostat knowing that in a nother year or so i may need to buy the humidifier as my family grows.
So, i pulled the upstairs thermostat off the wall and there were 4 wires connected. White, Yellow, Green, and Red. On the new box there are only 3 wires allowed. So i went downstairs and saw thatr White was in pin 1, yellow, pin 2, and green in pin 3. so i copied this upstairs. Plugged it in and no power. I am sure the red is needed some how since i have no IEM. What can i do to fix this? Is it possible to use this thermostat?

can you also tell me how to program this thing correctly? AC is electric and heat is gas. it is a new ac/heater unit, built in 2003. its a rheem.

What's this pin 1, 2, 3? Zone control board?

On the back of the new thermostat, there are only 3 spots for wires. 1,2,3. That's what I meant.

And the other 3 wires are on what on the other end???? If on the furnace, it will not work.. You MUST have EIM control.

zemaitatis, do you still have the wiring diagram from last year? This picture is from the vision pro manual:
Picasa Web Albums - simon.brian (http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/2NW1LMXUcmpdJ1YkS1Boaw?feat=directlink)
Note the triangle with the 1 over the 1,2,3. That is where its saying the EIM has three wires that run the VisionPro wall unit. Your white, yellow, green & red go to the other connectors in the EIM.

Hello Jay or other moderator!,
I hope this email finds you well.
Now i got the eim and hooked all up. Running ok.
I have a few questions as you can see!!!!
Was wondering if anyone can give me optimal settings for the unit itself.
1) a little about my system...I have a 2004 rheem (Classic 90 Plus) gas furnice and electric ac unit.
2) How do i get to the setup codes in the unit (press a few buttons on the screen at the same time? My dog ate the brochure :)) really!
I need help programming the thermostat iteslf... please tell me the optimal settings for my unit...
For programming...
a) I have no humidifier as of now.
b) I did buy the outdoor temperature sensor and have it hooked up.
c) I did buy the indoor temperature sensor for another area in the house. any recommendations as to where i should logically place this sensorin the house? The thermostat is in the master bedroom. 4 bedrooms total.
d) Which ports on the eim do i plug the wires into for the indoor temperature sensor?
e) I noticed that this unit does not show the Auto feature, just Heat, Cool, and Off. Can i turn the AUTO feature on?
I hope this email finds you well.

I'll get back to you when you give me the info on the equipments.

Guess it depends where you what the sensor to "control" the temp of that area. Is the upstairs a big open area/stairways?
You can do a few things.
-Temp reading at t-stat only.
-Temp reading at remote sensor only.
-Temp reading at both and avg. it out (50/50)
d) Which ports on the eim do i plug the wires into for the indoor temperature sensor?
IN1/IN2
e) I noticed that this unit does not show the Auto feature, just Heat, Cool, and Off. Can i turn the AUTO feature on?
Set up #300-2

It is actually just one unit that does both heat and ac. rheem, classic 90 Plus. Model #RCGA-37A1GG17.
I did figure out how to get to advanced installer mode, push the AC, HEAT, AUTO area, then hold in the 2 blanks next to the middle in the next screen.
We as far as the placement of the indoor sensor. i was initially thinking about taking the 50 / 50 average. One at the thermostat and the other at the sensor. But I am unsure where to put the sensor. I have 1 hallway leading to all 4 bedrooms in the upstairs. Dual zone heating and ac upstairs and downstairs. My family room has a high ceiling which joins to the upstairs. So my bedroom and possibly the hallway, or maybe the farthest bedroom away from mine? Any suggestions?
As far as programming in advanced installer mode, I would appreciate your help to setup correctly. No humidifier, need AUTO to work, outdoor sensor, indoor sensor, and anything else that can benfit me!!!
FInally, your time is worth money, do you guys take donations>Beer 4U2

Looking at my furnace, it showed model # on the back as RCGA-37A1GG17. On the front of the install book it says, "Installation Instructions for upflow and downflow/horizontal high efficiency condensing furnace. (-)GRA/(-) GRJ abd (-) GTA/(-)GTJ Series.
Rheem 1x2000.
Not sure if this info helped more then my previous post!!! Hpoe so.
