I just removed the Base Ray radiator in my bathroom. The valves at either end of the unit won't seal completely. I'd like to cap each valve while I complete my remodel project, but can't figure out what the thread size is. The OD of the thread is 1.125" (measured with a dial caliper). This doesn't match any standard pipe thread sizing I could find. I tried a 1" pipe cap, it is too large. I think a 3/4" will be too small with the 1.050 OD. Could these be a standard thread not a pipe thread? Any help would be appreciated.

are you sure they aren't combined valve and union?

if so, you may be trying to match the union thread, which is not standard tapered pipe thread, and if so, i don't know how you would ever seal it off.
