At the facility where I work we've been having a problem with rainwater making its way inside the metalbestos chimney stack down to the oil-fired furnace. Here's a link to a photo that shows the situation, where and how the water is infiltrating, dripping down off the sloped roof there onto the stack. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/sgull1/IMG_1255.jpg
Upon inspection it looks as if the white seals or caulking at between each part has deteriorated here and there and needs to be re-sealed. But what kind of stuff, caulking or whatever it is, do you use to seal this properly anyway? Seems like it would have to be some special stuff. any comments/advice appreciated.
