I am not sure if they are barnicles or not because we never had this problem untill this year but anyway when I pulled my boat out of the Monongahela river near California Pa. for the winter I noticed the bottom of the hull covered with tiny sea shells they even had the water intake completely closed off I don't know how it never over heated and I do watch my gauges. The boat is in the water from May to October. Someone told me it is because the river is cleaning up from years of industrial polution. I don't know whats worse. Is there anyway to protect the water intake for next year I know of the bottom paint to protect the hull but what about the intake. I just hope that none of the shells got inside the intake to ruin the pump vanes. Thanks John Beer 4U2
