Should I install an engineered floor over parquet? The parquet is in good shape and it is fixed onto ONLY half inch plywood, then the floor joists. I can understand why you shouldn't if it is on concrete, but it is a main floor. I cannot see why I shouldn't, especially considering that it is only half inch sub flooring. I think it would add to the strength and integrity of the house. Thanks

Welcome to the forums! You "can" install laminate over the parquet, but the proverbial question always comes up.....why? If you do make sure you use the approved underlayment for your flooring. Have you considered refinishing the parquet? I know it is dated, but if it is in otherwise good shape....
