Are there any drawbacks to using an agricultural type propane heater (the kind used in chicken and hog houses) in my garage-workshop as opposed to a regular garage heater, such as a mr. heater big max? The one I am considering purchasing is an unvented 75,000 BTU propane that is suspended from the ceiling.

You need to use a heater that is specifically approved for the location.
An agricultural heater may not be as agricultural spaces tend to have a lot of air change.
An unvented heater may not be the best choice for you.
They burn fairly clean but still vent products of combustion into the space along with a great deal of moisture.
A vented heater is safe and dry.
