The ranch house I bought a few years ago needs new facia and soffit. The previous owner had new seamless gutters installed over the above mentioned facia. I noticed the was no gutter apron or drip edge installed. In the last month I had the a new roof installed with full tear-off. New flashing, gutter apron, drip edge, vents, shingles..the whole ten yards. My next project is to replace the the above mentioned facia and soffit. The seamless gutters need to be dropped and re-installed after the facia-soffit repair. Is it possible to drop 150 linear feet of gutters? The house is a rectangle of approx 45'x30'.The gutters look like new and I would like not to replace them. Can seamless gutters be cut and latter joined together during re-install? Maybe, I should be thinking of dropping the gutters with a support ties. I then could drop away from the faccia and still keep them hanging just below the faccia. Not sure if any of this is possible. Any ideas other than starting over with new gutters? Thanks for your time. fleetwoodriley

The longest continuous run should be about 45'. The corners and downspouts are separate pieces. you should be able to disassemble them. Hanging straps may be a good idea and would reduce the chance of kinking them.

I have done many soffit and facia jobs where gutters were never removed. What I have done is install the soffit and then slip the facia up under the gutter all the way under the roof apron. Hopefully the gutters were not installed with spikes and furrels which are like big nails with sleeves that go inside the gutter. Be sure to remove the painted over vent screens in the soffit and put in a vented soffit panel, if you don't have any cut some in and be sure to move away any attic insulation this will help your roof and keep your attic cooler.
