Hi, I'm completely new to the site and I would really appreciate any help that I can get with this.

I am replacing my 400W HID lights with new, energy saving, 6 lamp, T8 fluorescent lights and I was hoping to save money by reusing the locking plugs and cords from my HIDs. The issue I have is that there are 2 ballasts, each with a white and black wire (as well as 1 ground for the fixture), to connect to one white, one black, one ground. So I'm not experienced with wiring but how can I connect 2 blacks and 2 whites to 1 black and 1 white?

Any advice would really be appreciated. I'll see if I can't get a picture up sometime soon.

how can I connect 2 blacks and 2 whites to 1 black and 1 white? You would use wire nuts inside the fixture. All whites together. All blacks together and all grounds together. The grounds would have a fourth bare or green wire that goes to the ground screw of the fixture.

Make sure your ballasts of the new fixtures are rated for the voltage you are connecting them to. Most new ballasts are rated for 120-277 but it would be worth taking a look see.
