My Kohler 1 piece is about 8 or 10 yrs old. It has the rectangular fill tube. I replaced the flapper with a Korky but it still leaks. the seat is smooth as a babys butt. The chain seems to have the right amount of slack but after a flush I still have to lift it up again to get it to stop. Should I replace the whole flush valve? If so, why? The seat seams perfect. I've heard that Kohler discontinued that flapper. Is this true?........Ok, never mind. I just went to check the model # (which is 3386) I opened up the tank and tried it once more. I found the problem! Just needed to have better lighting. The last link in the chain hung down and got caught under the flapper! I guess when I jiggled the handle, after the flush, it must have flipped up and out of the way. Nice to figure it out while posting the problem. Moral: Always check your chain!;)
