I have a Weil WTGO3 oil boiler that is about 9 years old. I want to put in a SuperStor 39 gallon tank and bypass the tankless coil for some oil savings (I'm hoping I will get something significant). I know I need to replace the aquastat, but will making my boiler go cold start create problems? or should I let it keep itself at 120F or so to avoid problems with the boiler cold starting.

Its just me an the wife as far as usage.

I don't think you can do any harm in adding the indirect and removing the tankless coil.

As long as the boiler can get hot during heating season, and domestic generation being cold start should not cause problems.

A good move, you should save around 20% on your fuel bill.

When you convert it to cold start watch the coil plate gasket when cold that it is not seeping. If it is it may need changed. Do not cap off the copper lines in and out of the coil. Leave them open.
