I have a craftsman snow blower that is probably 9 years old. I got it from a neighbor a month ago. It wouldn't start when I got but after taking apart the carburetor and cleaning it out it will start now. But the problem is that it will only run in full throttle and when trying to lower the throttle it cuts out and dies. When it is running it seems to run rough. And when I turn the key off it sputters and backfires before turning off. Any suggestions?

Still sounds like carburetor problems.

Take the carb off again, take it all apart, soak it in a carb cleaning solution for a couple hours, rinse off in water, and BLOW OUT ALL OPENINGS (including the tiny pin holes)WITH COMPRESSED AIR!
Also drain out the gas and refill with fresh gas.

Please you refill this gas and than you have no problem with craftsman.
