I got a disposal making the hum but the blades arent turning. I have been successful turning them through the hexhole on the bottom but they dont turn when the motor turns on. Am I looking at somehting bigger than a jam or is there another way to fix it? The broomstick method maybe? Any help is appreciated!

If they turn easily using the hex on the bottom..but not when you hear the hum..its time for a new disposal..sorry..no way to repair these things.
