Hi everyone,
I'm having problem finding disassembly directions for this Maytag dryer. I think it's such a new model and maybe one of the first production models with the new 'Whirlpool' design/production influence since the acquisition that the disassembly info hasn't been too widely distributed.

Anyway, the problem is the dryer was delivered last Friday with the Bottom Vent configuration option we requested but could not immediately install until we made a new vent hole in the floor -- the old one was in the wrong location. Anyway when I got done and attempted to connect the bottom vent pipe through the floor, I realized the internal vent pipes were not joined properly. There's a small straight piece and a vent elbow - both were separated. I need to get inside to properly join and tape but am having problem finding out exactly how to disassemble. The dryer's rear-panel does not have a vent access-panel and does not appear to come apart from the sides and top when I remove the 5/16" screws- appears to be spot welded or crimped to the sides.
Does anyone know how to get to the internal vent setup? looks like you might be able to get in through the front as there is a lower panel below the main door panel.
thanks,
Greynold99

Inglis-Whirlpool-Kenmore dryers, common repair problems, idler pulleys, belt, drum rollers, noises, how to take apart, no heat problems, replacing the drum rollers, replacing the heating element, motor problems (http://www.applianceaid.com/whirlpool-dryers.html#four)

on your model you have to use a putty knife to release the clips on the front bottom of console to remove the top

David,
Thanks for the help. I actually got the dryer up on my portable workbench and discovered the clips I couldn't see from floor level. The lower access panel is actually about 12" high and once removed I was able to gain the access to the venting pipes and set them correctly. Maytag 'cheaped' on the venting and the do-it-yourself outlet hose bend (there's a clear plastic frame you route the outlet hose through to make the J-bend).
We had specified the bottom vent option and the pieces they used were: too short by 1/2" and instead of fully-encircling the joint with aluminum-tape they simply tacked on little pieces of the tape that were unable to hold when I was trying to clamp on the flexible-duct through the floor.
