We had a tank with the Fleck 5600SE installed 2 years ago to inject our water with oxygen to get rid of the sulfur smell.
It was doing a great job, we had it serviced every month or so until our water guy went out of business. The smell has returned (BIG TIME!)-- what do I need to do to service this thing myself?
I would appreciate any advice.

The Fleck 5600SE is the control valve but that doesn't give us much info on how you are getting air into the system to oxidize the sulfur. Do you use a venturi type air injector? Is there an actual small air compressor that injects the air?

I cannot imagine ever installing a system for a customer that needed service once a month but as long as you didn't mind paying the service calls. I'm assuming by the monthly service requirement it is probably a venturi air injection system that works due to pressure differential between the input side and output side of the fitting and air nozzle. If it is such a unit then simply removing the air injection fitting, cleaning it and re-installing it will solve the problem but make sure to shut off the water on both sides of the unit before you start.

After about 3 cleanings you will see why those air systems are pretty unpopular amongst dealers. The only guys I ever see install those things anymore are the guys that live off the service calls from them and are lucky enough to find customers who don't mind paying all the service call fees.
