Hi, I am contemplating tiling the walls in one bathroom. The floor is vinyl self-stick tile which will be pulled up and taken down to the subfloor. I guess I need to use concrete board on the floor.
On the walls however, they are plaster and lath with who knows how many coats of paint. How should I prep them for tile? Do I install wire mesh directly on top of the plaster prior to installing the tile?
thanks.

You will want to scuff that paint up good and use a quality thinset like Versabond. You don't need to add anything to the wall.
