I have a 1989 Chevy 2 wheel drive 6 cylinder truck, and when i start her up the oil gauge goes up on 400, that's as far as the gauge can go and it stays there, was wondering what was wrong, hope someone can help. thanks......

Probably nothing wrong, and I doubt it is 400psi. Most likely 40 psi. Cold mornings, thick oil, just like blood pressure. Once you get it going, the pressure drops. You could have a defective sending unit if the gauge is electric, or, if manual, you could have trash in the line. How old is the oil in the engine. Is it serviced regularly?
